When a global retail brand needed expert engineering support downstream of the gas supply to facilitate a major expansion of its store in Nottingham, contractors CD Electrical Engineering called in SA Gas.
SA Gas was contracted to design, fabricate and install a complex network involving more than 500m of gas outlet pipe on the roof of the store in a phased approach to connect to a new meter module and then reconnect new and existing downstream equipment, including air chiller units. Strict control over permitted activities during store opening hours – and restrictions that included no rooftop welding - meant a lot of prefabrication work and ‘out-of-hours’ activity.
However, when the wider project plan slipped and put overall progress at risk – including the installation of a new Air Handling Unit - SA Gas engineers worked through the night to connect new and existing store equipment to a new meter module to allow the scheme to move forward.
The commitment and expertise of SA Gas engineers helped get the store expansion project plan back on track without impacting on trading.
“Thanks to you all for the hard work and effort this week getting the gas changed over.”
